    Hello Iran,

    We currently do not have any failover mechanisms for centralized collectors; if the collector goes down then the logs that would have been ingested during the failure will be lost. The current strategy for preventing this is to implement a load balancer with an additional collector in the event of one collector failing.

    To answer your second question: if you want to replace the existing collector with a new version that has the same name, you will need to use the "clobber" option that can be configured during collector installation. I have included a link to our documentation on the clobber option below.
