Geo lookup result not accurate

Hi there, 

 

I was wondering what API or library is used behind the Geo lookup. I have noticed that some of the IP addresses in the log are not mapped accurately to their locations. For example, there was an IP from Sydney, Australia Eastern Coast and the Geo lookup shown it as in Perth, Australia, which is at the Western Coast. 

 

Does this occur to others as well?

  Hi Lionel,

  Sumo Logic Geo Location lookup is designed to use the Neustar database as mentioned in the documentation here:
  https://help.sumologic.com/05Search/Search-Query-Language/Search-Operators/Geo-Lookup

  If some of the IP addresses in the log are not mapped accurately to their locations, you should file a Support case with all the details and Sumo Logic Support will get the locations updated in the Neustar database.
